Description
Two symmetrical steel forms joined together in the top center. Constructed of Corten steel, an oxidized steel that develops a rust-looking patina that prevents weather damage. About this piece, the artist remarked, “Its symmetry is a recurring theme in my work, evoking serenity.”

Brian Monaghan Untitled Corten SteelBrian E. Monaghan owns Central Sculpture Works in Chicago and studied art at the Massachusetts College of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. His large-scale steel sculptures can be seen throughout the Chicago area. The Library owns another piece of Monaghan’s sculpture, “Search.”
