Members present: Howard V. Hummer, Donald Kraft., Mrs. Selma Petty, Rabbi Karl Weiner, and John M. Wozniak, Miss Mary Radmacher, Chief Librarian. President Weiner announced the.meeting was held for the purpose of action to be taken by the Board on the purchase of the property at 5223 Oakton Street, Skokie, presently owned by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schroeder, Jr. Mro Lindberg reported on his negotiations with the Schroeders on the Board's behalf. After discussion, the following motion was made by Mr. Hummer, seconded by Dr. Wozniak which, on roll call vote, carried unanimously. Motion: That the Skokie Public Library purchase the property at 5223 Oakton Street, owned by Mr. and Mrs.Albert Schroeder, Jr., at a price of $40, 500. ·In the ensuing discussion it was the recommendation of Mr. Lindberg that if the Schroeders would offer to sell their property to the Skokie Public Library for $40, 500 that the Library be prepared to meet this offer. Mr. Lindberg suggested the possibility of selling the two-flat building on the property at 5219 Oakton Street for removal to the purchaser's location.
