Miss Radmacher will talk to Don Lyon re the problem due to the fact
that we cannot take the time to go out for bid on the ceiling repair , can it
be handled as an emergency repair .
SIDEWALK -
Miss Radmacher said that the specifications for the original side -
walk installed in 1972 cannot be us e d without revision for the new sidewalk .
She will contact the Vi l lage Engineering Department , Board of Local Improvements for their specs which we shoul d be able to u se .

The trustees looked over the excerpts of minutes which. were distributed regarding the sidewalk and decided only the sidewalk, itself, will
be replaced, as is written in the minutes.
Since there was a rough estimate of $25, 000 .. 00 for the sidewalk
given a few years ago, it is estimated the cost will now be between
$30,000 and $40,000.
FINANCE - Mrs. Hunter commented to the Board that with the state of the
economy as it is, the Library cannot expect to get any additional funds and
must live within the budget it has.
The Reserve Fund for the Purchase of
Sites and Buildings is our only cushion against emergencies and cannot be
depleted.
She said the trustees should be aware of the fact that the
Automation Project will not only cost a large amount of money originally,
but the monthly maintenance costs which cannot be estimated, will most
likely be very high, and will be a continual drain.
Regarding problems between the security system and the automation
system Miss Radmacher said that since the specs for the automation system
are already out, she will talk to
Mr~
Matthews regarding an addendum to the
specs about this.
The trustees discussed taking the money to repair the ceiling
out of the Maintenance of Building and Grounds in the General Operating
Budget, and the following motion was made by Mr. Flintrup, seconded by
Dr .. Wozniak:
MOTION~
That the costs for necessary work for the
ceiling repair and maintenance be taken
from the 1981-82 Maintenance of Building &
Grounds budget in the General Operating
Budget.
